A funny plant name

Calochortus weedii weedii.

Seeds for sale at Theodore Payne, for, ahem, $10.

Calochortus
, if you don't know, "is the most widely dispersed genus of Liliaceae on the North American Pacific coast."

Me, I just wanted to say "Calochortus weedii weedii".

Thanks for the tip. I thought that price was a little steep too. But they are tough to grow.

Also, Calochortus may be so widely dispersed because it's in its own family, Calochortaceae.

$10 would definitely be more than I've yet paid for seed. I had a Calochortus last year, and I killed it. They are hard.
