Randomness

I haven't felt like blogging very much lately. Don't particularly feel like doing it right now either. Not sure why. Is it the heat? It was hot today. And it's going to be hot for the foreseeable future. Like 90 degrees F hot. That's hot for San Francisco.

Chuck feels hot.

I keep starting a story about what I've been up to for the last few days, thinking if I just get started, I'll get into it and end up with something worth posting. But then I get bored and backspace it out.

So, why fight it? That doesn't mean I'll be bored forever. So, I'm just going to go with this feeling for awhile. A few more fallow days on the blog won't hurt anyone, right?

But just so you don't feel like it was a complete waste of your time and energy to click over, here are a few pictures I took in my garden this morning before I went off to do the things I'm too bored/hot/tired to tell you about.

Dryopteris erythsorosa.

Gilia tricolor.

Another shot. California native wildflower.

Cineraria.

More cineraria, with a rose from my neighbor's yard hanging over my fence.

Hydrangea petiolaris.

A happy coincidence that Posey's holding a bouquet of blue flowers! It wasn't on my mind when I bought or planted the Nemesia strumosa.

No worries, Chuck. I understand that hot-weather malaise. It afflicts me each summer here in Austin, when temps hit a muggy 90 in May and rise up to the 100s off and on for the rest of the summer (which means early October). Blech. Still, at least blogging is indoors with the A/C running. ;-)

Yes, Chuck - if anyone can emphasize with you it will be the bloggers from Austin! "Hot for the foreseeable future." is a phrase to send my spirits plummeting, too.

That hydrangea is beautiful. I planted one a few houses back, but moved before it really got going.

As to Posey's bouquet .... well maybe the blue flower wasn't on your conscious mind, but was your unconscious doing the matchy-matchy?

Wow-that dryopteris sure looks tall, even just as it unrolls! Funny how those blue flowers wound up next to the gnome...cosmic coincidence? I feel for you-I tend to wilt in the heat, too...especially early in the season before the body can adjust. I used to ride horses in blazing heat-can't even imagine it now. But by the fair time when it was hottest, I could ride in jeans, long sleeves and boots, barely noticing the heat. Amazing what you can get used to.

I'm in a daze as well, from our two whole days of heat! Amazing what lightweights we are in San Francisco : )
I really like your retaining wall and the different shades of green you chose for it.
